The largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter, has one of the most unpredictable climates. Beautiful photos of Jupiter reveal the planet to be covered entirely with striped, turbulent clouds. In actuality, storms are all over this planet. Some are only tiny, while others are enormous and could completely cover all of Earth.
But the bands’ depth was unknown for a very long time. Recent research revealed that the stripes extended to a depth of 3,000 kilometers, which was remarkably deep. Additional research has shown that Jupiter is suffering devastating consequences, and we are essentially clueless about why or what is actually happening.
