Four astronauts are about to fly to the International Space Station today.
Today, October 5 at noon EDT (4 p.m. GMT), Mission Commander Nicole Aunapu, Pilot Josh Cassada, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) Astronaut Koichi Wakata, and Roscosmos Cosmonaut Anna Kikina will begin their journey to the International S Pace Station. NASA‘s Kennedy Space Center offers a Crew 5 viewing opportunity for space enthusiasts who would prefer to watch the liftoff from a physical location.
If you purchase your tour ticket at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, you will be allowed to get as close to the launch pad as possible. From this location you will get a detailed view of the rocket leaving the launch pad. But if you’re not in the US or can’t afford the ticket price, you can watch the launch online for free. Launch coverage will begin today at 8:30 a.m. EDT (12:30 p.m. GMT). You should try watching today’s takeoff to see how far humans have advanced technologically.
